This article is not a step by step of how I developed it, because the project is huge. So this article is to show the difficulties that I found for my learning. If you want, you can access the repository on GitHub in the topic Conclusion.

Through Mario Filho’s course, I learned how to build a Machine Learning model to make recommendations. In the course he taught a project “How to recommend YouTube vídeos” according to the user’s preference for some subjects or video titles.

Therefore, using these techniques that he was taught, I developed a game recommendation system model…

This recommendation system was iniciated and learned during my Data Science training, beside the data exploration below, I’m also going to build a new application to show this recommentation to the end user in the near future.

Dataset

The Netflix dataset is from Kaggle competition “Netflix Prize data”, so they can improve their reccommendation algorithm, despite being an old competition we still can learn a lot from it. You can get the dataset as well from here.

For this exploration, we are going to use just the .txt files (combined_data..) and the movie_titles.csv file.

Data Exploration

The full exploration is on a Jupyter…

Another simple article, which provides a PowerShell script that I need to use to download a file from a Sharepoint site.

So for that we are using the Pnp.Powershell module by giving the Sharepoint online credentials and then we use Connect-PnPOnline function to connect in the account from the PowerShell.

The documentation of this module can be found here: PnP PowerShell Overview | Microsoft Docs
The documentation of this function can be found here: Connect-PnPOnline (PnP.Powershell) | Microsoft Docs

In order to work, we need to set the list name from Sharepoint in the variable called $ListName.

After that we…

In this article I’m going to show how the configparser module from Python works. This module is used for working with configuration files, which is very similar to Windows INI files.

The file is organized into sections, and each section can contain name-value pairs for configuration data, just like the example below.

.ini file example

The documentation of this Python module can be found here: configparser — Configuration file parser — Python 3.9.6 documentation

So what I’m going to use as an example is a Python script to connect to a simples API with and without the configparser module. …

This is a really simple article, which provides a PowerShell script that I really need to use to run another PowerShell script into another Windows server.

So I had a server that an SSIS package was running into the catalogs but the PowerShell script in the package was in another server, so in order to run without errors, we need to call the first PowerShell script that will call the second and script and the one that you needed.

So for that we are using the Enter-PSSession function by giving the server name and the credentials to connect to it.
The documentation of this function can be found here: Enter-PSSession (Microsoft.PowerShell.Core) — PowerShell | Microsoft Docs

PowerShell script example

It’s a really simple PS1 script that can be found on my GitHub reporitory:
guimatheus92/Run-PowerShell-Script-Into-Another-Server (github.com)

I hope you enjoyed this simple solution.

This article is very simple and short, so the main goal is to delete (clean up) automatically any file from a specific folder older than any days wanted.

PowerShell script

To achieve that, you can get the script from my GitHub repository:

guimatheus92/Delete-Files-from-Folder: With this PowerShell script you can delete files from folder within a certain time period (github.com)

For the script to work, you just have to define how many days you want to filter to delete files on the line below.

# Defines how many days the files can stay in the defined directory
$limit = (Get-Date).AddDays(-7)

You also need to paste the folder path where the files are located on the line below.

# Defines the destination directory to clean files
$path = "Put your folder path here"

And that’s it! Now we can automate this task easily.

I’m writting this article because I used this macro several times, so I’d like to help others if I can.

I’ll teach how to use VBA scripts in Microsoft Outlook to run a macro that can save any attachments from email to a folder.

You can find the attachments in my GitHub repository.

Prerequisites

Microsoft Outlook

For VBA scripts in Microsoft Outlook to work, you must check the following points below:

  • Using a mailbox for any user that has access to the email
  • Check if the rules on Outlook can run a script. …

In this article I will show how the data visualization is different using the “Usage” type as “Parent” to create hierarchies of a table automatically, through a multidimensional cube created by SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), through a multidimensional model.

Parent usage from “ParentEmployeeKey”

The data was taken from the AdventureWorksDW2017 backup file made available by Microsoft itself through the download backup files.

With this DW restored in a SQL Server database, we can connect to SSAS and create the desire dimension, in this case we use the dimension table “DimEmployee”, and create a cube with the fact table “FactResellerSales” and “FactSalesQuota”, just for…

A biblioteca selenium ela literalmente abre o…
